iK is funded through a collection of private businesses and like-minded entrepreneurs as well as government funding.

Does iK take equity in startups?

No. iK is a not-for-profit, zero-equity-stake model.

How is iK different from Kingston Economic Development Corporation (Kingston EcDev)?

While iK and Kingston EcDev share a vision of creating an innovative city where private and public enterprises thrive and entrepreneurs grow, our mission is focused of driving activities that support technology-focused businesses. Kingston EcDev (an iK partner) develops strategic priorities that leverage Kingston's unique assets to create jobs and investment in order to sustain, grow and transform Kingston's economy more broadly.

Our Community Membership Level is free! Our Professional Service Provider (Company) and Ecosystem Company (Tech) Membership Levels are $350/year. You can learn more about them here.

iK is a not-for-profit organization. The fees and donations contribute to our building operations, programming, and events.

Is there parking at Town Hall?

Yes, we have two dedicated parking spots onsite. Additional parking has been generously offered to us at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.
